India has been grappling with the second wave of COVID as its been recording over three lakh cases a day for over a week. The death toll in the country has been over 3000 each day for the past week.
The government has opened vaccination for those over 18 years of age but states have brought to notice the shortage of vaccines that are delaying the process.
Even as the cases continued to rise, states like West Bengal, Assam, Telangana saw political rallies joined by hundreds of people.
The Maha Kumbh Shahi Snan also saw hundreds gathered in Uttarakhand's Haridwar as the country recorded over two lakh cases that day.
