Here are newlyweds, Anant and Veena from Mumbai who shot to overnight online fame with their wedding video that went viral this year. Anant and Veena tied the knot in Delhi, in February 2019 and sang their own customised version of Jagjit Singh and Chitra’s old Punjabi folk song, “Kothe Te Aa, at their wedding.

Anant, a writer and Veena, a singer had no idea that their cute gesture for each other, would become a viral video on the internet.

“We had no idea that the video would become viral overnight, we got tweeted by Parineeti chopra and even Barkha ji”

The two of them wrote these “Tappe” specially for their wedding because they didnt want the music to be the usual shaadi song and dance. The lyrics, thus, are all personal experiences that the two have shared. One such being where in the song Veena is seeing teasing Anant to trim his beard. This in fact, did happen. Anant was asked by Veena’s parents to trim his beard before the wedding, which was well...let’s just say, much longer than what we see in the video.

“We loved the response we got from the video so now we have our own YouTube channel where we regularly upload videos of new tappes”
Veena to The Quint

Anant’s writing compliments Veena’s soulful singing beautifully and we totally stan this adorable wedding video, much different from what we’re so used to seeing!
