Meghan Markle to Take Six-Month-Long Duchess Training
The newest British royal family member will reportedly take grooming lessons up on The Queen’s request.
Being a royal is not an easy job – from strict protocol to centuries-old tradition, there’s a lot that each member of the royal family needs to adhere to. The newest addition to British royalty, Meghan Markle, will be no different.
However, having little experience and exposure to a life with restrictions, the former actress will be need help making the transition. The Queen has made special arrangements to ensure that the transition is smooth.
According to Daily Mail, Her Majesty The Queen has instructed her assistant private secretary and long-time trusted aide Samantha Cohen to help Markle adapt to the royal lifestyle and familiarise Meghan with her role as the Duchess of Sussex.
Previously, Kate Middleton had to undergo a similar training after she got married to Prince William. Cohen has reportedly already shifted to the Kensington Palace, which is the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to begin the process.
Women in the British royal family have to adhere to numerous rules – from never wearing bold nail polish to never being spotted sitting with their legs crossed, among others.
The journey ahead of Markle is surely a hectic one, but here’s hoping her previous profession has got her accustomed to working a busy schedule.
The twitterverse, naturally, was flooded with comments from users, making the seemingly obvious comparison to the popular Hollywood movie The Princess Diaries.
