25-year-old-Mihir, whose mild autism was identified when he was 10, has never let his medical condition get in the way of his dreams.
He pursued a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from a Pune engineering college, and currently works with JP Morgan as a quality analyst. In an earlier interview to My Medical Mantra, his mother, Janhavi, says,
According to the Indian express, at least 10 million individuals have autism in India, with one in 68 kids in India suffering from Autism.
Autism spectrum disorder is a medical condition that refers to a broad range of challenges, from social skills to repetitive behaviors, to speech and nonverbal communication.
Very Well Health reports that, even people with mild autism “have significant developmental and sensory challenges that are severe enough to get in the way of normal activities and relationships”.
Besides the medical challenges, kids with autism also have to battle social stigma and many misconceptions.
