Here’s a joke.

Whoever invented knock-knock jokes should get the No-Bell Prize.

Get it?

...Not your kind of “ha ha” moment? That’s okay. We’ve got something more hilarious than my lame joke – the year 2017.

Halfway through 2017, and it’s been a merry ride – we’ve literally cried with laughter (apart from actual crying). So on International Joke Day, we decided to collate and share some of the finest jokes 2017 played on us. And they are damn funny!

Let’s Make 2017 Great Again!

In perhaps the year’s most consequential development, America elected a reality show host and questionable real estate tycoon, Donald Trump, to its highest office. The new President likes long rants on Twitter – and some short ones... covfefe, anyone? – passionate nights in Russia, and is completely taken with the size of his own hands.

Sorry America, this year the joke’s on you!

Belieb it or Not!

Just when we were laughing our arses off at America, karma, the b*tch, played a cruel joke on us by sending pop sensation Justin Bieber to Mumbai to lip-sync... badly. The Canadian singer landed in India like a perfect NRI damaad with bizarre demands (ping pong table, PlayStation, IO HAWK, sofa set, washing machine, refrigerator, upholstery, wardrobe cupboard, etc), performed in his branded chaddi, in the process taking the very shirts from our backs with his ridiculously high-priced tickets. #NangaKardiaBacheNe

La La ‘Lol’ Land

Oscar 2017 was a La La ‘Lol’ Land for the Academy. ‘Moonlight’ lost a bit of its sunshine thanks to a historic goof-up involving Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway’s. The veterans came on the stage and announced the wrong film in the Best Picture category, making La La Land do an impromptu award wapsi to the beaming Moonlight team.

Comedy of Errors

Comedy king Kapil Sharma’s career went into freefall from 39,000 feet when he hurled not just his in-flight slippers (at Sunil Grover), but also his reputation up in the air. Yeh hui na Dilliwallo jaisi baat! The raja of slapstick humour is now receiving slaps from all ends.
