Delhi’s kitty-party brigade has finally made its way to our TV screens. They might look like ‘darlings’ but boy, are they much much more. ‘Dilli Darlings’ debuted 10 of Delhi’s socialites, most of whom don many other hats than the ones splashed across Page 3.
The series is truly a guilty pleasure for those who enjoy a blend of thoda reality and bohot saara drama. From throwing lavish theme parties to even weddings for their house help, we see these women walk us through their daily lives. We couldn’t help but fall in love with each and every one of them for their little quirks and nuances.
While some are comparing the show to its western counterpart ‘The Real Housewives’, I feel it's too unique to draw any parallels. If you think being broke is tough, these women reveal the challenges that come with being super rich.
For Shaloo Jindal, the winner of the show, repeating an outfit is no less than a crime.
However, it was her honesty and candour that led her to win the title of the show, and with it, quite a few hearts!
While the show might offer you a tip or two on how to spend an ungodly amount of cash or buy cars on whim, or even have diamond studded nails, impeccable party decor, free-flowing booze, we also see a woman asking her driver to park the car away from stores as, “Audi se utarte hue dekhenge toh rate double kardenge”, a mother secretly picking up clothes from her daughter’s closet and a wife asking her husband to help with housework.
Amid the oomph come out these women’s struggles, as they open up about their lows.
It was visibly tough for Bhavna to admit to it, but as she said, nothing on the show had been scripted and when today, her fans plead to her her voice over voice note, she feels like a million bucks.
This show is pretty binge-worthy for those who don’t mind seeing a bunch of gorgeous women stress about their first world problems in their swanky mansions, while they sip their Earl Greys.
And of course, getting a glimpse into the lives of these rich women doesn’t hurt, especially after a long day.
