Dear Soldier, You’re My Inspiration and I Wish to Be Like You
My ‘Sandesh to a Soldier’ is I will try to join the armed forces because it is our duty to protect the motherland.
Dear Soldier,
Any message I write cannot possibly truly define the respect I have for you, and others like you. Even if I gather all the knowledge in the world, I still will fall short of words to describe how high I place the Indian Army in my life.
What you do is truly inspirational. In today's world, where everyone is moving away from the concept of “army”, I find myself to be ever so close to this institution, and I have many people to thank for that. It is my dream to join the forces and be like you.
On behalf of all Indians, I thank you. It’s because of you that we are living a peaceful life. I cannot imagine the sacrifices you make in your personal life so that our land is safe. I am going to try my best to join the forces in the coming years because this is our land and it's our duty to protect it.
For this reason, the respect I have for the army is unmatched. The army believes in no ‘first use’ or ‘first attack’ but they do not let anyone or anything ever harm our national security. I love to read about the wars and battles in the last century because of how they display your strength, and the courage it takes to fight for our motherland. Thank you for what you do, dear soldier. It is truly an honour to write something to you and for you.
I'd like to quote PVC Capt Vikram Batra who said, “I will either come back after hoisting the Tricolour, or I will come back wrapped in it, but I will be back for sure.”
