1. Baahubali Grosses Rs 500 cr Worldwide
Baahubali’s gross box office collections have now crossed Rs 500 crore, making it the first ever non-Hindi film to enter the 500 crore club. Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Tammannna grossed the amount in three weeks of its release. The film has since its release been praised by stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, who recently called the film an ‘inspiration’.

2. Radhika Apte Excited to Work with Superstar Rajinikanth
Soon after Radhika Apte received appreciation for her role in Sujoy Ghosh’s short film Ahalya, the actress has bagged a big project opposite south superstar Rajinikanth!
It will take some time to sink in. I don’t think there is anybody bigger than Rajini sir. And the director, Pa Ranjith, is exceptionally good. So I was extremely thrilled that it has worked out. And I am super excited to finally meet Rajinikanth.

3. KJo to Venture into TV Ad Production
Karan Johar who wears many hats in the world of entertainment is now expanding his business into something that he has never done before. We hear that KJo’s Dharma Production will now venture into ad film production as well. This will give an opportunity for his team of directors to start making ad films as well, though the first ad from Dharma will be directed by Karan himself. We are aware of actors queuing up outside his office, now we are sure brands too will want the Karan Johar stamp when they launch their new products.
4. Sonakshi Sinha to Play Dawood’s Sister
After unapologetically doing a series of commercial masala films, Sonakshi Sinha will finally be doing something serious. Her most critically acclaimed film was Lootera, which released in 2013 and since then she has been doing more or less the same thing on the big screen. At a time when top actresses like Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut are seen in a variety of author backed roles, looks like now even Sona wants her share of acclaim. Perhaps that’s why she has green lit Apoorva Lakhia’s next film in which she will play Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar.

5. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Collects $56 M in the US
Tom Cruise fans flocked to the cinemas in the US as soon as Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation released and the film managed to get a $56 million opening in North America, which is more than the numbers expected. Cruise is considered a bigger star in the overseas market as compared to his popularity in the US and so the film’s worldwide figures will add to the latest Mission Impossible’s box-office numbers.
