Sonakshi Sinha will play underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in Apoorva Lakhia’s next directorial venture. Haseena Parkar died last year in Mumbai at the age of 55, after she suffered a massive heart attack. The film titled Haseena –The Queen of Mumbai, will be a biopic on Dawood’s younger sister, who also faced a criminal case for extortion but was never arrested.
Sonakshi confirmed the news on Twitter:
After doing a series of unapologetic commercial films (except Lootera), Sonakshi will now finally be seen a role of some substance. Haseena will track 40 years in the life of Dawood’s sister and is being pitched as an emotional tale about what it meant to be the underworld don’s sister.
However, fans of the actress will have to wait for this one as the film goes on floors only in 2016.
