‘First Class’ From Varun-Alia’s (Period) Drama ‘Kalank’ Is Here

After Ghar More Pardesiya, the first song from Karan Johar’s upcoming period film Kalank, the makers have released a new song titled, First Class. Sung by Arijit Singh and Neeti Mohan, with music given by Pritam, the song shows Varun and Kiara on a grand set.

We wonder why the makers chose to use contemporary lingo like ‘First Class’ in a period film. The Kalank teaser, which was released earlier, gives a sneak peek into the old world charm of Karan Johar's ambitious project. The love saga, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha is set in the 1940s when India was on the brink of Independence.

Along with the varied hues of love, the Abhishek Verman-directed period drama will also highlight the trials and tribulations of love with the spotlight on communal tensions. Kalank releases on 17 April.
