Amidst reports that Rahul Roy had returned home after suffering a stroke, his brother-in-law Romeer Sen has said that the Aashiqui actor is still hospitalised. Sen told Mumbai Mirror that he has been admitted to Mumbai's Wockhardt Hospital where he is undergoing physical and speech therapy. Sen added that he felt Rahul had neglected his health and the family was now deciding the course of action for his recovery.

Rahul Roy was earlier admitted to Nanavati Hospital after suffering a stroke while shooting for a film in Kargil. Reports quoting the film's director Nitin Kumar Gupta as saying that Rahul would be discharged on 8 December led to speculation that he would return home.

Gupta also told the publication that he plans to make a film with Rahul that will be titled Stroke. He added that it is a murder mystery in which the protagonist witnesses a murder but is unable to name the culprit because he has had a stroke. "We are mixing reality with fiction," he said.

On 7 December, Rahul took to Instagram to share with his fans that he is feeling well after receiving treatment. He posted a video and some photos from the hospital. In the video, he is seen with his sister Pia Grace Roy and a friend, who thanked all his fans for wishing Rahul a speedy recovery. “I am recovering And thanks to all my friends, family and fans who are also like my family for pouring so much of love and prayers for me. Will be back soon. Love you all - Rahul Roy,” the actor wrote.

Rahul was shooting for LAC - Live The Battle, directed by Nitin Kumar Gupta and produced by Chitra Vakil Sharma and Nivedita Basu, when the incident occurred. He had to be airlifted to Mumbai after the stroke.
