Varun Wishes Dad David Dhawan in ‘Coolie No. 1’ Style
Varun and Sara are shooting in Bangkok for Coolie No.1
After Judwaa 2, the father-son duo of David and Varun Dhawan have re-united for Coolie No.1, the shoot for which is currently underway in Bangkok. From the sets, Varun has shared a cute photograph of the two, wishing his Dad on his 64th birthday.
He took to Instagram to share a picture and captioned it saying, "Happy birthday papa. Mere no 1 director. Kaam chalu hai bhai log. Coolie number 1." In the picture, Varun can be seen dressed in the coolie attire, with David wearing his cap.
A lot of celebrities commented on the photograph wishing the director. “Happy birthday to Davidji,” wrote Karisma Kapoor, who has worked with him in a lot of films. Even Ranveer Singh wrote, “BRUUUUUH. THE MAN , THE LEGEND.” Bipasha Basu, Jackky Bhagnani, Manish Malhotra also wished senior Dhawan.
On Sara Ali Khan’s birthday recently, the actors released another motion poster and a still. “COOLIE NO.1. May1st 2020. Haat jao baju aya Raju” wrote Varun with the motion poster showing him in a coolie’s avatar.
The two also shared a still of the both of them, showing their quirky and fun chemistry. “Heroine tera birthday aaya, birthday ke din main tere liye poster laya! Happy 22nd bday,” wrote Varun on Sara’s birthday.
The original film, which starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead, was directed by Varun's father and filmmaker David Dhawan, who’ll be directing this one too. It will be the director’s 45th film, as per the poster.
The Coolie No 1 remake will be the third collaboration between the father-son duo. They have earlier worked together in Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2, both of which were commercially successful ventures.
