‘Superboys of Malegaon’ Trailer: Big Screen Dreams Take Flight in a Small City

The trailer for Reema Kagti’s Superboys of Malegaon dropped on 12 February. The film tells the story of a group of residents in the small town of Malegaon who decide to make a Sholay of their own. For Nasir Shaikh (played by Adarsh Gourav), travelling to Mumbai might seem like a pipe dream so he decides to bring the city to Malegaon, through cinema.

With no money and a cast and crew made up of locals, Shaikh and his friends set out on this journey. But it’s not an easy task – from egos clashing to heartbreak, the films takes the viewer through it all. Superboys of Malegaon, inspired by a real story, takes a look at how far imagination and a thirst to make a dream come true can push a person, no matter how arduous the journey.

The film also stars Shashank Arora, Vineet Kumar Singh, Manjiri Pupala, and Muskkaan Jaferi among others. It is written by Kagti and Varun Grover and is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Kagti with Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani and Angad Dev Singh acting as co-producers.

Superboys of Malegaon hits theatres on 28 February.
