Shah Rukh Khan All Set to Produce a Horror Series for Netflix
The series, reportedly, will be titled ‘Betaal’
After Bard of Blood and Class of 83, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to produce another series for Netflix, and this time a horror one. Titled Betaal, it’ll be co-produced by Gaurav Verma, Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix. Written and directed by Patrick Graham, the show will be co-directed by Nikhil Mahajan.
Reportedly, the horror series will feature Vineet Kumar Singh of Mukkabaaz fame, and Aahana Kumra. Patrick Graham has earlier directed Radhika Apte-starrer Ghoul for Netflix.
This will be Red Chillies’ third production for Netflix, after Bard of Blood starring Emraan Hashmi and Class of 83, starring Bobby Deol. It is directed by Atul Sabharwal. The film tells the story of an upright policeman-turned-police instructor whose students grapple with the complexities of honour, morals and devotion towards the nation. The release date for Bard of Blood, was recently announced as September 27.
The Bard Of Blood is set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent, the multilingual series will tell the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love.
A combination of combat skills, intellectual background and personal circumstances propel Kabir to avenge the past and face his deadliest enemies in a race against time. The book is written by Bilal Siddiqi who also co-authored Emraan’s autobiographical ‘The Kiss of Life.’
