Radhika Apte is the queen of OTT platforms. She has been part of several recent Netflix shows and films such as Sacred Games, Ghoul and Lust Stories. Now, she is all set to be a part of Apple’s international drama series Shantaram, reported Deadline. The actor will be paired opposite Moulin Rouge! fame Richard Roxburgh. The series is based on Gregory David Roberts’ bestselling novel by the same name.

Roxburgh will play Detective Sergeant Marty Nightingalem, who works for the Australian Federal Police and is part of a small, elite unit trained for the pursuit and capture of escaped convicts. On the other hand, Radhika Apte will essay the role of Kavita, a driven Indian journalist looking for answers.

She took to Instagram to share the news:

Justin Kurzel (Assassin’s Creed) is set to direct the first two episodes of the 10-episode series. The series is expected to start production in Australia and India in October.

Meanwhile, Radhika Apte is busy preparing for her Hollywood project Liberte: A Call to Spy. The film is based on true incidents from World War II, and the actor will be seen essaying the role of a British spy, Noor Inayat Khan aka Nora Baker, who was the first female wireless operator to parachute into Nazi-occupied France to help the French Resistance.

Radhika has been doing a lot of research for her character. “I have been reading novels from the time and watching a lot of spy thrillers to get into the skin and psyche of the character. The writers and producers on board helped me a lot with the reading material”, the actor had told DNA in an interview.

She also noticed a striking difference between Bollywood and Hollywood. “It is a subjective process. Every director and production house has their own way of working. However, in Hollywood people are very punctual and they will always pay you on time. You don’t have to beg for money”, Radhika added.
