Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Sindhi-style wedding is now completed. The newlyweds have taken their wedding vows and done with their pheras, reports Filmfare.

Just before the baraat arrived, the couple performed a pooja with seven married women. AND apparently, Singh’s friends tore his clothes after the pooja. The groom later changed into his wedding sherwani.

’90s Music Sets the Mood

The star couple is all set for the second wedding, and this time ’90s music is reportedly setting the mood. According to India Today, “My Name Is Lakhan” started playing at the villa as soon as the groom arrived. Other numbers like “Chunnari Chunnari”, “Amma Dekh”, “Naiyyo Naiyyo” and “Tamma Tamma” are currently playing at the wedding venue.

The groom reportedly entered the venue with “Meri Pant Bhi Sexy” and other cheesy songs. The baraatis, dressed in red turbans, grooved to popular Bollywood numbers as they were escorted in a boat to the villa.

According to India Today, the duo has arrived at the venue and the guests were spotted wearing turbans. They apparently hid themselves from the curious gaze of the shutterbugs with the use of umbrellas.

According to reports by Mid-day, Deepika was dressed in a red and gold outfit by Sabyasachi with heirloom jewellery and Ranveer wore a white Sabyasachi kurta and dhoti. The guests too wore South Indian attire.

The ceremony followed traditional rituals such as the Kanya Aagaman, which marks the bride’s arrival at the mandap. Shubha Mudgal reportedly performed as Deepika walked up to the mandap. Guests were treated to an elaborate lunch of South Indian fare served on a banana leaf after the ceremony.

With the likes of drone interceptors in the sky and guests being made to wear special wrist bands and scan unique QR codes on their phones in order to gain entry, the security at the venue is tight. Deepika Padukone’s sister, Anisha Padukone changed her social media bio to reflect her status as the #Ladkiwale with a bride emoticon.

According to ANI, Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are expected to reach the wedding venue by 9am today. They are among the few from the film fraternity who will be part of the official wedding. The guest list has mostly been restricted to family and close friends.

And the security arrangements are tight at the venue. From special wrist bands to patrolling boats to no mobile phone policy, every little detail has been taken care of. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, there are boats patrolling the area surrounding the wedding venue to decapitate any drone in the vicinity.

What’s more, all the visitors are being given special wristbands and even their mobile phones camera are being covered with stickers by security guards. Numerous security boats are patrolling just outside the property to keep trespassing photographers at bay.

The couple also requested Harshdeep Kaur to delete a photo that the singer shared with her husband, by the lake, because they do not want any photos of the high profile wedding to surface online.

All The Details About The Mehendi Ceremony

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the mehendi ceremony which was held on Tuesday afternoon had both Deepika and Ranveer donning Sabyasachi creations as the wedding party grooved to Harshdeep Kaur’s tunes. The designer himself was also present and it looks like the men also applied henna on their palms.

Deepika and Ranveer wore similar rich shades of red and pink and the bride reportedly got misty-eyed more than once. But as per reports, the doting groom-to-be was by her side the whole time.

Chitrapur Saraswat-Style Wedding Scheduled for 14 November Followed by a Sindhi Ceremony

The couple are expected to have two wedding ceremonies. A Chitrapur Saraswat-style wedding is slated to take place in the morning on 14 November since Deepika belongs to the Konkani-speaking community originally from Karnataka. This will be followed by a Sindhi-style ceremony on 15 November.

Filmfare reports that for the Chitrapur Saraswat ceremony, Deepika will be dressed in a traditional white and gold silk sari and will wear a red lehenga on day two. Ranveer will don a heavily embellished sherwani. The couple’s outfits are all Sabyasachi creations.

Wedding Venue Shifted Due to Bad Weather?

While most have speculated that the Ranveer-Deepika wedding is taking place at Villa del Balbianello, Mid-day reports that the venue is actually Casta Diva Resort and Spa located in Blevio village on the eastern side of Lake Como.

Earlier reports have suggested that the wet weather prompted wedding planners to change the venue last minute.

The couple has officially exchanged rings post a Phool Muddi ceremony, according to Filmfare. Mid-day reports that the couple welcomed their guests personally at the entrance of the venue. Both wore western outfits. Deepika was in a white dress and Ranveer in black. The engagement ceremony was followed by a formal sit-down dinner and the guests were requested to not share any pictures on social media.

DeepVeer's Wedding Photographer Offers a Glimpse of Autumn from Lake Como

The wedding will be captured for posterity by the same crew that filmed the wedding of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli in Tuscany - Vishal Punjabi’s The Wedding Filmer. TWF also shot the wedding sequence in Deepika’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Ranveer’s stylist Nitasha Gaurav posted an update on the couple on social media.

“They have asked guests to not bring their cell phones to the ceremony. Considering the fact that it will be a destination wedding, there will be fewer people and all the arrangements will be in place. While the two, in all likelihood, will share pictures with their fans eventually, they hope this step will help them guard their privacy,” sources had earlier told Filmfare.

Villa del Balbianello is Being Decked with Flowers

India Today reports that twelve florists were specially flown in from Florence to decorate the wedding venue Villa del Balbianello. The Lake Como resort where the guests are staying is about 45 minutes away from the wedding venue and the publication reports that the guests will use golf carts for transport within the location. With an outdoor floating pool, the location also boasts an alfresco terrace overlooking the lake. Surrounded by the botanic park, the resort is spread across an area of about 26,000 sq meters. The location appears to be the property of Lac de Come Hotels.

The groom-to-be will reportedly make a flamboyant entry on a seaplane with a seating capacity of 14 people. Chefs from Switzerland will reportedly arrive at the venue. The wedding will reportedly be held in the morning on 14 November followed by a grand lunch.

Harshdeep Kaur to Perform at Deep-Veer Wedding

Playback singer Harshdeep Kaur posted a photo of herself in a plane with a cryptic caption that read, “Off to a very special place for an even more special occasion. Arrivederci”. Speculation is rife that this implies Kaur will be attending Ranveer and Deepika’s wedding in Italy.

A picture of her with musicians Sanjoy Das, Bobby Pathak and Firoz Khan also seems to confirm that they will perform at the sangeet and mehendi ceremony.

A source close to the developments told Mid-day, “The villa is closed for the public starting today. The families are staying at a hotel 10 minutes from the venue because the venue itself doesn't have boarding facility."

No Gifts for the Couple

A source close to the duo disclosed to Mid-day, "Since they are both from non-filmy families, they wanted a quiet wedding away from the prying eyes of the world.” The source went on to say that the Mumbai and Bengaluru receptions are set to be ritzy affairs. The soon-to-be-wedded couple has requested guests not to get gifts but donate instead to Deepika’s Live Love Laugh Foundation, which works towards raising awareness about depression. “Both Ranveer and Deepika are deeply committed to the cause and want to involve all their guests in the good deed,” said the source.
