Amitabh Bachchan Hospitalised for Routine Check-Up

Recently, there were speculations that Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati hospital for a liver problem. According to a report in Times of India, the actor was rushed to the hospital at 2 am on 15 October and has been in the hospital ever since. His only visitors so far were the Bachchan family.
However, sources told The Quint that the veteran actor has been admitted for the past three days for a regular check-up. He might get discharged today, the source added.
Bachchan tweeted his karva chauth greetings to his fans and followers on Twitter on Thursday night.
In 1982, Amitabh Bachchan suffered a serious accident while shooting for Coolie. He had to undergo a surgery immediately, for which 60 units of blood were required. One of the units was infected with Hepatitis B, negatively affecting the actor’s liver. Later, he was diagnosed with Hepatitis B.
Speaking about the same, Amitabh Bachchan had said in an interview in 2015, “I don’t mind saying it publicly that I’m a TB survivor. I’m a Hepatitis B survivor. Due to a bad blood infusion, 75 per cent of my liver was damaged. However, because I was able to detect it even after 20 years I’m still surviving on 25 per cent. This is what I want to propagate, that get yourself tested. Get yourself diagnosed and then there is a cure.”
Amitabh Bachchan is currently working on popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. On the big screen, he was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla. His upcoming projects include Gulaabo Sitabo, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, and Brahamastra, starring real-life couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
