1. Rajkummar, Anurag Support Actor Who Now Works as Security Guard

Actor Rajkummar Rao and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have come out in support of actor Savi Sidhu, who is now working as a security guard here due to a financial crisis. Rajkummar on Tuesday took to Twitter to extend support to Savi saying: "Will ask my casting friends to reach out to you."

Savi has featured in movies such as Black Friday, Gulaal and Patiala House. In a video shared by Film Companion on YouTube, Savi spoke about his struggling days and what led him to take up a security guard's job.

2. Now, ‘Badhaai Ho’ Co-Writers Withdraw Names from Nominations List

In a Facebook post that went viral and later in an interview with Firstpost, screenwriter Jyoti Kapoor has called out that her name is not mentioned in the Filmfare Award nomination for Badhaai Ho, despite the fact that she wrote the story for the film.

Now, co-writers Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildial have withdrawn their names from the nominations list. Srivastava even took to Twitter to say that it is better to lose an award than share it with someone who hasn’t written the story.

3. Did You Know Alia Auditioned for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’?

Actress Alia Bhatt to star in SLB’s Inshallah

After much speculation, the news has finally been confirmed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has signed on Alia Bhatt to star opposite Salman Khan in his next film Inshallah.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the Padmaavat director recalled the first time he met Alia was when she had come to audition for his 2005 film Black. Sanjay didn’t let then nine-year-old audition, telling her mother Soni Razdan that he didn’t want to audition her for a child’s role because he “knew she was a Hindi film heroine”.

4. Deepika Padukone & Vikrant Massey Begin ‘Chhapaak’ Prep

Deepika Padukone is set to play the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film Chhapaak.Deepika has begun script reading of their film with co-producer Gulzar and co-star Vikrant Massey. Padukone, who is co-producing the film with Gulzar and Fox Star Studios, will reportedly stay in Delhi to understand the character better and get accustomed to the locations.

“Deepika met Laxmi in Delhi a few years back. As for the film, she is working eight hours a day to perfect the role. Besides readings with Meghna, she is also using photographs and videos of Laxmi as her reference points. The team has also collated data about other acid attack survivors to get an in-depth understanding about the subject,” Mumbai Mirror reported.

5. Guess Who Is the Latest Addition to Madhuri Dixit Nene’s Parivaar?

Actress-producer Madhuri Dixit Nene and her husband Shriram Nene have adopted an abandoned puppy rescued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. The puppy was adopted on their son Arin's birthday on March 17.

"Abandoning a companion dog or cat is the cruellest thing to do. I'm happy we will be able to give this pup a new lease of life," Madhuri said in a statement.
