Several television personalities, friends and family members of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who allegedly committed suicide in Mumbai on Friday, bid a tearful adieu to her on Saturday.
The 24-year-old actress, who shot to fame with her role as Anandi in TV show “Balika Vadhu”, was found hanging from the ceiling at her flat on Friday evening.
Pratyusha’s last rites were performed at Mumbai’s Oshiwara crematorium around 6 pm.
As the Mumbai police are probing the alleged suicide of television actress, some of her friends said that things were not going well in her personal life.
“There were injury marks on her nose, under her eyes. We have taken pictures (as a proof)....police are probing domestic violence angle. We will give our statement to the police,” Pratyusha’s actress friend Kamya Punjabi told reporters.
Producer Vikas Gupta said he had offered a show to Pratyusha, but she was not keen to accept the offer because of the trouble in her personal life.
Meanwhile Rahul Raj Singh, the boyfriend of Pratyusha was quizzed by the police on Saturday.
