Union Minister for Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar defended the government on the issue of soaring onion prices in Indore yesterday and claimed that the BJP never coined slogans like “Acche Din Aayenge”.

The BJP never said ‘Acche Din Aayenge’. During the last Lok Sabha election, slogans like ‘Acche Din Aayenge’ and ‘Rahul Nani ke Ghar Jayenge’ (Rahul will go to his maternal grandma’s house) were coined by social media. People put these words in the BJP’s mouth. However, we humbly accepted the trust people expressed in us through such slogans.

Attacking the Congress, the minister said,

People have already brought ‘achhe din’ by defeating Congress party in election. “Digvijay Singh and Rahul Gandhi are having bure din (bad days),” said Tomar.
