Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphone the Xiaomi Mi5 on 31 March in India. The phone is priced at Rs 24,999 and will be available starting 6, April 2016 on Mi India’s online store.
Xiaomi Mi 5 will compete with LeEco’s Le Max Pro which has been priced at Rs 21,000 for the Indian market. Both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor which makes them contenders for the affordable flagship segment.
The phone will come with a 5.15-inch Full-HD display and will have Xiaomi’s Sunlight display technology in it.
The phone will be available with a 3GB RAM. This is the first Mi phone to get MiUi 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Mi5’s body is built with a mixture of glass and metal and resembles the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Mi 5 will also get a 16-megapixel camera at the back that is supposed to be the most powerful camera on a Xiaomi phone till date.
Xiaomi Mi5 will replace the Xiaomi Mi4i as the flagship phone for the Indian market. This is the second phone by the company to be launched in India, a month after the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
