Sakshi Malik of Haryana won bronze medal for India at the Olympics in Rio De Janerio in the freestyle 58 kg category

Sakshi Malik put India on the world map by winning a bronze medal in the women’s wrestling 58kg freestyle category on Thursday in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.

Hailing form Haryana, 23-year-old Malik made history by beating Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan.

Known for her strategy, Malik was trailing 5-0 in the first period before gaining eight straight points and India’s first victory at the Rio Olympics.
