Nation’s Leadership Responsible for Kashmir’s Troubles: Mehbooba Mufti

Speaking on the occasion of Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti blamed the country’s leadership for the conflict in Kashmir.

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir today is because of problems in nation’s leadership. Encounters have taken place in the past and will continue to take place. But I don’t understand what was my government’s fault? I promise that action will be taken against police and security forces who went against my directions.

Lal Krishna Advani Also Hoisted the National Flag

BJP veteran hoisted the flag at his residence in New Delhi.

I don’t know how many of you have seen the India when it wasn’t free. My birth hasn’t taken place in a free India. I am happy that we have got the freedom today. I still remember the day when our party had just formed and I had to go to Delhi. I was asked to assist Vajpayee ji and I am doing this work since then. I also participated in the Red Fort programme. But we still  have to do  a lot. I hope that India will become popular. It is for the new government to ensure that freedom turns into “swarajya”.
