Trouble mounts for the Indian hockey team captain Sardar Singh. On Friday, a 21-year-old British national recorded her statement before a magistrate of the Patiala house court in Delhi. The Quint has exclusive access to the details of the victim’s statement, where she has made serious allegations against Singh of raping her, forcing her to undergo abortion, and falsely promising marriage.

The statement before the Magistrate is incomplete. Her statement will be completed on 15 July. Victim has enough evidence to prove her allegation.

The victim has also moved an application in the court saying that Singh and his family are forcing her to withdraw her rape complaint from Chankyapuri police station. The victim filed this complaint in the police station on 14 June but the cops didn’t take any action.

Since the police station didn’t take any action on the complaint, the victim was forced to move to the court. After the recording of the statement before the Magistrate is complete, it’s on the court to decide the further course of action. Court might order the police to file an FIR or court itself can take cognisance of the matter and summon Singh.

According to the sources, Singh is likely to leave for Rio Olympics this month. But if an FIR is registered against Singh, his departure could be difficult.
