Days after Subramanian Swamy wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggesting the removal of RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan, the Congress said on Wednesday that Swamy’s real target is Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, not Raghuram Rajan.
“Subramanian Swamy is actually targeting Arun Jaitley, RBI Governor is just an excuse,” a senior Congress spokesperson told news agency ANI.
Swamy has accused Rajan of “harming the nation’s economy” and claims he is “acting more as a disrupter of the Indian economy than the person who wants the Indian economy to improve.”
In his letter, Swamy said Rajan is in India on a Green Card and therefore he is “mentally not fully Indian.”
