Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s personal website has been hacked by a Bangladeshi hackers group. The ‘Know Me’ section that usually hosts information about the life and career of the former UN diplomat now displays a hate message from the hackers.

Bangladesh Black Hat Hackers, the group behind the attack have left the following message on the website.

‘It is strictly suggested to watch your history before making any words against Bangladesh cricket’

The group apparently found Shashi Tharoor’s tweets on the Bangladesh cricket team’s victory over England offensive. During a group stage match between England and Bangladesh on March 9th, the Congress MP had tweeted that if Bangladesh won, it would give India an easy ride into the semi-finals.

‘You may manipulate the mass media to downsize tigers. But, we can manipulate your cyber space as like child toy’, reads the message on Tharoor’s website.

The details of how they hacked the site along with a screen grab of Tharoor’s website is available on the group’s Facebook page. The post titled ‘Cyber War—1st Day’ warns of more attacks on Indian websites, and that they want to teach people like Tharoor a lesson.

It’s not the first time that Shashi Tharoor has been at the receiving end of hackers. His twitter account was hacked in January last year when a series of bizarre tweets were sent from his twitter account to a Pakistani columnist Mehr Tarar.
