Attacker Tries to Strangulate Kanhaiya on Plane, Both Deboarded

Kanhaiya also slammed Jet Airways for ‘refusing to take action’ against the alleged assailant.

Kanhaiya Kumar on Sunday alleged that a fellow passenger attempted to ‘strangulate’ him on a Jet Airways flight to Pune while it was still in Mumbai.

Yet again, this time inside the aircraft, a man tries to strangulate me.

He named a ‘strong BJP supporter’, Manas Deka, as the assailant, and called out the airline for not differentiating between assaulter and assaulted as well as for refusing to take action against the alleged assailant.

Manas Deka, works in TCS, a strong BJP supporter assaulted me inside the aircraft. Is assault the only tool you have, to fight dissent?

Basically @jetairways sees no difference between someone who assaults nd d person who is assaulted. They will deplane you, if you complain.

Jet Airways also tweeted, confirming that some passengers had indeed been removed from the flight for ‘operational safety’ reasons but did not disclose their identities.

Police have detained one person at Mumbai airport for the alleged assault, reports say.
