Smriti Irani’s office denied that the minister had left without helping, after an accident in which an Agra-based doctor Ramesh Nagar died on the spot on Saturday. The ministry now also denies that the car involved in the accident was part of the minister’s convoy. They said it was a “private vehicle, which allegedly hit the biker, who later on died, has nothing to do with HRD Minister’s cavalcade.”

The doctor’s 16-year-old daugther Sandili Nagar has alleged that after the accident took place she pleaded HRD minister for help but she ignored her.

We were going to attend a wedding ceremony. The speed of our motorcycle was very slow. Suddenly, Smriti Irani’s vehicle hit us and our motorcycle slipped. She came out of her car to see us. My father was lying injured on road after the mishap. I asked her to help him but she denied. Had she helped us, my father could have been saved.

Sandili’s complaint contradicts Smriti Irani’s claim.

HRD Minister Smriti Irani directed SSP Mathura to arrange an ambulance immediately so injured could be given medical treatment at earliest.

We demand that action must be taken against her and our grievances must be heard. We are not from a rich family; we live on rent and my father was the sole earning member of our family.

A man, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed in a chain of collisions which had led to a huge pile-up of vehicles on the highway.

Irani was returning from Vrindavan after attending a convention organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha when the accident took place.
