Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, through a phone call to PM Modi on Tuesday, had promised “prompt and decisive” action against the terrorists after India shared information against them.

Seven Indian security forces personnel and six terrorists were killed in the Pathankot attack on 2 January.

We have given them intel and Pakistan PM has promised prompt action. We are waiting for them to take the action that they have promised.

Swarup also confirmed that the Indian consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan was the main target of a terrorist attack which lasted till 4 January, Monday.

The Indian forces in Afghanistan countered the attack until Afghan forces took over the situation, Swarup informed.

He also conveyed India’s stand against the nuclear test carried out by North Korea on Wednesday which is suspected to have caused an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale.

This is not the first time N Korea has tested weapons and we have expressed concerns even in the past.

An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration, South Korea’s weather agency, said the agency believed the earthquake was caused artificially.

The immediate focus of the MEA is, however, on what Pakistan’s next move will be.

The meeting in Bangkok saw discussions between India and Pakistan on cross-border terror and peace along the LoC.
