After a day of speculation of him being considered for JNU VC post, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s tweets have landed him in soup. Swamy took to Twitter to say that he would not consider the post until he is “allowed to rusticate anti- national students”.
By anti-national students he meant ‘Naxals, jehadis and Elis’ and so he thinks the prestigious university needs “an Anti-Narcotics Bureau campus branch office to raid dorms”. (Elis is a short form used by Swamy which means Supporters of ‘Eelam’ / LTTE supporters of Tamil Nadu).
Swamy was always critical of JNU as he thought the educational hub is the breeding bed of anti-national elements like Naxals, jehadis, etc.
