On Monday, we introduced you to 5 members of the Chak De! India hockey team, 8 years after the film hit screens. Now, take a look at what the rest of the girls are up to.
Sagarika Ghatge
Sagarika Ghatge was always the glamorous one in the film. The actress made a few appearances as a leading lady in some films post Chak De! India but none of them worked at the box-office. She will be seen next in a Punjabi film and in JP Dutta’s new project.
Don’t be surprised if you catch Sagarika and Vidya Malvade gorging on some cupcakes in any of those popular Mumbai hangouts.
Vidya Malvade
Like Sagarika, Vidya continues to be a part of the film industry and is seen making appearances in Bollywood and Marathi films once in a while. Vidya is now married to Sanjay Dayma, who worked with Ashutosh Gowariker on Lagaan as screenplay writer & associate director.
These pictures are enough to prove the bond these girls share.
Shilpa Shukla
She is the khalnayika of Chak De! India but in real life Shilpa Shukla is a very spiritual person. Shilpa’s role as Bindiya Nayak got her noticed as the snobby arrogant hockey player of the team. The actress later made her mark in Bollywood with BA Pass, which won her a lot of critical acclaim.
Seema Azmi
It might be a little difficult for you to recall this face when you think of Chak De! India but she is the girl who played Rani Dispotta, a hockey player from Jharkhand, who is continuously bullied by Balbir Kaur (Tanya Abrol).
She may not have had a prominent role like the others in the film, but she is one of the most experienced actors among all the girls. A National School of Drama pass out, Seema has been a part of some eminent films as a character artist.
Sandia Furtado
In real life too, Sandia Furtado, who played Nethra Reddy, the girl from Andhra Pradesh is as feisty as her character in the film. Sandia has only acted in Chak De! India, as she was a keen hockey player herself. She is now a PR professional and lives in Mumbai.
