Right after the results of the EU referendum was announced, the second-highest searched question on Google in the United Kingdom was, “What is the EU?”
The question should probably have been asked before Britons voted themselves out of the European Union.
The result of the referendum was declared in favour of Brexit – Britain’s exit form EU – as the Leave camp received 51.89 percent votes while Remain camp managed 48.91 percent votes.
“What is the EU?” will certainly mean something different, now that one of its most powerful and largest member has decided to leave.
Among other questions UK users Googled on Friday include, “What does it mean to leave the EU?” and “What will happen now (that) we’ve left the EU?”
