In his first press-conference, President Donald Trump had openly refused to release his tax returns due to an ongoing “audit” on his company, despite making several promises that he would declare them, The Guardian reported.

Following a 40-year-old tradition, former US presidents had released their tax returns. Kellyanne Conway, senior counselor to Trump said:

The White House response is that he’s not going to release his tax returns. We litigated this all through the election. They voted for him, and let me make this very clear: most Americans … are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like.

This broken promise, however, made WikiLeaks really unhappy. It hacked emails of the Democrats, to the benefit of Trump, who often seized the opportunity to defame his opponent Hillary Clinton.

But in a tweet, Wikileaks said:

Trump’s breach of promise over the release of his tax returns is even more gratuitous than Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts.

Then Wikileaks urged whistleblowers to find information on Trump’s tax returns and send it to Wikileaks so that they could publish it.

Moreover, a White petition calling for the immediate release of Trump’s tax returns has received 218, 465 signature on Sunday afternoon.
