Indian Origin ‘She-EO’ Accused of Sexual Harassment by Employee

Miki Agrawal, an Indian-American who co-founded THINX, is facing fire of a sexual harassment complaint by a former employee, Chelsea Leibow, who was discharged of her duties in December. This complaint is coupled with other similar informal claims of employees against her.

THINX is a start-up that makes women’s undergarments with focus on personal hygiene.

Leibow’s accusations include Agrawal regularly and inappropriately touching her body, sometimes in the presence of other employees, and that she“molested at least one other female employee’s breasts,” reported The Washington Post.

A report by New York Magazine states that Agrawal was also accused of commenting on “the size and shape of her employees’ breasts, an employee’s nipple piercings, her own sexual exploits, her desire to experiment with polyamory, her interest in entering a sexual relationship with one of her employees...”

Leibow further commented:

I felt that Miki objectified my body when she declared that she was ‘obsessed’ with it, and made very detailed comments about my breasts. It also seemed like a way for Miki to assert her dominance over female employees by simply doing whatever she wanted to do without asking, and showing she could get away with it.

Agrawal responded to these allegations in a public Medium post and said:

I know I’m passionate and oft unruly in my ways (as a taboo breaker must be), but I have never, ever crossed the line in the inflammatory ways described. This is all I am going to say on this matter.

The same post also mentions that a third-party employment law firm conducted investigations into the accusations. All of them turned out to be “false and without any merit”.

These allegations come only days after Agrawal resigned from her post as the head of THINX.

Other accusations against her include indulging in workplace nudity, and reserving raises only for male employees while still the chief executive officer of the company, according to a CNBC report.
