Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said he wanted to build a strong and vibrant party with the help of all delegates. Delivering his opening speech at the AICC plenary session in New Delhi, the Congress President took a dig at the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), accusing the saffron party of using anger as a tool.

They (the BJP) use anger, we use love. But one thing that I want to say is that this country belongs to everyone – and whatever the Congress will do will be for the benefit for all.

Gandhi further added the country is sad by what is happening in the country and only the grand old party can show the way forward.

The country is tired of what is happening under the current government. Only the Congress can show the way and heal divisions in the nation.

Gandhi said that the Congress was the only party that “can unite the nation and take it forward”. He also said that the members of the Congress are fighting hard to keep the party’s ideology live.

The representatives of our party have fought hard to keep our ideology alive. The senior leaders of the Congress will guide the party youth and take us forward. The tradition of the Congress is to embrace change without forgetting our past and legacy.
