“We do not want corporate farming. The government will benefit from this law, not the farmer,” farmers told the Centre during the fifth round of talks over farm laws on Saturday, 5 December. Both protesting farmers and the Centre will hold the sixth round of talks on Wednesday.

Seeking to break the deadlock over the ongoing protests against the farm laws, the Centre told the 35 representatives of agitating farmers that they are ready to address all their concerns with an open mind, PTI reported citing its sources.

The fifth round of talks between the central government and protesting farmers was held at Vigyan Bhawan on Saturday, with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar present. He reportedly told the farmer unions that the government is committed to talks and welcomes feedback on farm laws.
