Speaking for the first time on the ongoing power tussle in Maharashtra which blew up after the BJP and Shiv Sena failed to form an alliance in the state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Wednesday, 13 November, said that no one had objected when he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pitched Devendra Fadnavis as the CM Candidate if the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won the Assembly polls.
In conversation with news agency ANI, Shah said ally Shiv Sena has now come up with new demands which are not acceptable to the BJP.
When asked on the protracted time given for the government formation, Shah said that before this, no state was given so much time. Neither Shiv Sena, Congress nor NCP staked claim, and neither did BJP. Even if any party has the numbers today, they can approach the Governor and stake claim.
