Dilli, as you guys would know, is an aggressive city. And our anger can be most seen on our roads, where our level of hostility surpasses even those of the ‘Big Boss’ contestants.

But all of our everyday aggressiveness pales in comparison to the vandalism done by a bunch of Karwariyas in Delhi’s Moti Nagar. They badly smashed a car and created a ruckus, just because the car brushed past one of them.

Hey karwars, we know that you guys walk for hundreds of kilometers, gathering sacred water from the Ganges and carry it across on foot. It really is a commendable act of devotion. But it really is saddening that when some goons in the garb of being bhakts destroy ordinary people’s property, with no respect for another human.

What’s Cop?

Okay, let’s leave aside everything and come back to the cops in this video, who were seen not stopping these guys at all.

Wow, sirs. So much for vowing to protect us at all costs! Perhaps this is what happens when you are so used to reaching a crime scene AFTER the crime has happened. You would obviously have no idea on what to do when you reach WHILE the crime is actually happening.

To be fair to the cops though, it must have become confusing for them, especially as the ADG of UP police himself was seen showering flower petals at them from his chopper.

Perhaps he forgot to notice the ‘ground’ realities, busy as he was reviewing arrangements from ‘up’ above the sky.

Meanwhile, in Bareilly, people are being asked to sign ‘symbolic’ bonds of 5 lakh rupees if the peace is disturbed while Kanwariyas are crossing their area, because of which 70 families have fled from their own homes.

But what is the point of this rant anyway? We all know that no one is coming to help us in case the next incident of vandalism happens. My recommendation? You take matters into your own hands, and get a kanwar insurance for your car instead!
