CBFC Chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani broke his silence regarding the censorship controversy surrounding the film ‘Udta Punjab’.

He said that all the ruckus created around the film was thanks to the rumour-mongering and it was done by the film’s producers with the purpose of garnering cheap publicity for the film.

Nihalani also said that the film had been given an ‘Adult’ certificate after the proposed cuts, but there was no political interference or pressure on the Board.
