Tamil Nadu Polls: Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi File Nomination

Two of Tamil Nadu most powerful leaders from the state’s parties AIADMK and DMK, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and M Karunanidhi filed their nominations on Monday Afternoon, for the 16 May Assembly election.

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa, who is also the General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or AIADMK, filed her nomination from R K Nagar constituency in Chennai. She is a sitting MLA of the constituency.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party or DMK veteran and former five-time Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi file his nomination from Tiruvarur constituency. The 93-year-old DMK supremo has so far won in all the assembly elections he has contested since his debut at Kulithalai in 1957.

Both the leaders received warm greetings from enthusiastic party workers and people around.
