Sri Sri’s World Culture Festival Deals Farmers a Hard Blow

Yamuna cultivable land has been acquired for Sri Sri’s mega Art of Living event without any consent from farmers.

The organisers of the festival, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art of Living, have used the cultivable fields on the banks of the Yamuna to build broad roads, parking and camps. This land has been acquired without the farmers’ consent.

Though the organisers have promised to pay compensation of Rs 4000 to each of them, the farmers are not satisfied and not ready to accept this development.

Many are complaining that the compensation is not really worth the loss. The loss that they have to bear as the bulldozers roll over the farm lands. These flattened farms will take several months to recover from the damage, but the organisers and government is not concerned.
