Seven People Convicted for Thrashing a Woman in Public in Tripura

A local court convicted seven people for beating a woman in public after tying her to a pillar at Tata Kailbari in West Tripura District. The incident took place two years ago. The convicts have been sent to jail for four years.

Soma Majumder was tortured by few people including women of the same area on 6 October 2014.

After the incident, Soma filed an FIR against the people involved at East Agartala Police Station.

Based on the evidence shared and post the long trial, the local court finally gave the verdict.
