1. RAW Will Contest Doval’s Plan to Shut the Agency’s Aviation Wing

The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s external intelligence agency, will not allow the government to wind up its aviation and satellite imaging asset, the Aviation Research Centre, The Quint has learnt.

Highly-placed sources in India’s intelligence community revealed that reports which suggested that the government had taken a decision to shut down ARC are “not true”.

On Tuesday, Hungary closed the Hungary-Serbia border to block the entry of ‘illegal migrants’. While Syrians dominated that list with 66,896 people, South Asia had a reasonable number – 394 Indian migrants, 3,200 Bangladeshis, 12,927 Pakistanis and 32,900 Afghans.

Afghans said they felt that the Khans and Muslims of Afghanistan are not welcome as refugees in India.

3. Bengal Govt Declassifies Netaji Files, Public Viewing From Monday

The West Bengal government has taken a historic decision; all 64 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose files in their possession have been declassified. The files pertain to his disappearance 70 years ago and may help his family and the nation find closure.

The original files have been kept in the Kolkata Police Museum. Beginning Monday, they will be available for public viewing.

Indian fisherman shot dead off the Indian coast in Gujarat by the Pakistan Navy. The deceased fisherman identified as Iqbal Abdul Bhatti. A Coast Guard team will investigate the incident.

5. Pak Air Force Base Attack Kills 30, Taliban Claims Responsibility

Heavily armed militants launched a brazen attack on an air force base in Peshawar, early morning today, killing at least 17 people. The Pakistan Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack, one of the major terror assaults on a military facility, also left 13 terrorists dead, military spokesperson Major General Asim Bajwa tweeted.
