1. PM Launches Digital India Initiative

2. 38 Dead in Darjeeling Landslides, Still No Air Rescue
At least 38 people have been killed in a series of landslides caused by heavy rainfall in three sub-divisions of the Darjeeling district since Tuesday night. However, people on the ground are complaining of little help in rescue efforts from the Bengal or Central Governments so far. With roads wiped out, locals are continuing rescue efforts on their own, forced to walk 25-30 kilometers with the injured before night fall.
3. SC Talks Tough on Settlement in Rape Cases
It’s not exactly a breaking story but it’s very significant. More than a week after a Madras High Court judge released a convicted rapist on bail asking him to seek mediation with the survivor, the Supreme Court has jumped in. It came down heavily on the court ruling.
4. Pankaja Munde Breaks her Silence
Pankaja Munde is back from her trip to the US and is in the middle of a crisis management exercise after her name came up in the Chikki Scam. Munde said that she had just been following the procedure set by the Congress government that preceded her.
