In a shocking re-run of last week’s case of religious discrimination, a 25-year-old girl was denied accommodation in Mumbai for guess what? Being a Muslim.

Last week, a Mumbai-based company had denied employment to a Muslim MBA graduate, only because of his religion.

Misbah Qadri became the victim of blatant prejudice, when several brokers in Mumbai refused to show her flats in the city because she was a Muslim.

I have been forcefully asked to vacate the house only because I am a Muslim. Often, the brokers refuse to show me houses, only because of my religion.

– Misbah Qadri

Misbah revealed that often she was asked to sign a “no-objection certificate”, declaring that if she faced any harassment from her neighbours because of her religion, the builder, the owner and the broker “would not be legally responsible.”

The incident has once again triggered wide spread outrage. Shobha Oza of the Congress has accused the BJP for the growing intolerance.

RSS and BJP agenda has certainly divided our society. It is very unfortunate, they are not getting jobs, flats. BJP has many faces.

  - Shobha Oza, Congress Leader
