Setting aside rumours and speculations, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has clarified that the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 results are not being declared on 5 January, reported The Indian Express.

The exam was conducted by IIM Lucknow on 26 November 2017 and nearly 2.31 lakh candidates appeared for it. The results, once announced, will be put up on the official website (iimcat.ac.in).
CAT is an essential part of admission to various management courses offered in the various IIMs and other top B-schools of India. According to The Indian Express report while the overall number of applications decreased this year, there has been a slight increase of 1.16 percent in the number of female applicants.
The shortlisting criteria vary for each IIM, and each IIM will send interview letters to shortlisted candidates directly, reported the Indian Express.
The Indian Institute of Management Bill, 2017, now approved by President Ram Nath Kovind, grants more autonomy as well as power to the IIMs to award degrees instead of diplomas to graduates.
