Villagers of Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, had no other choice but to carry a sick patient on a charpai (cot) to the hospital due to lack of proper roads and adequate transportation in the region.

According to ANI, a video which has been doing the rounds on social media shows four villagers cross a flooded river which had washed away a road.

This is not the first incident in Madhya Pradesh where villagers couldn’t get access to an ambulance for the lack of roads. One of the earlier incidents include a man from Damoh carrying the body of his mother on a motorcycle to get her post-mortem done and returning in the same fashion, as reported in The Indian Express.

According to Indian Express, as the video went viral, netizens took to social media to recall and mock MP Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s statement in Washington DC where he claimed that Madhya Pradesh’s roads were better than that of the United States of America.
