Three men who were allegedly transporting cattle for slaughter were beaten up by members and supporters of Bajrang Dal on Tuesday, 31 July. The incident took place at Hajipur in Vaishali district, reported The Telegraph.

A case has been lodged against a Bajrang Dal member and 20 others who stopped a vehicle carrying four bulls near Patna at around 4pm. The mob dragged out the three men from the vehicle and allegedly assaulted them in full public view, after they hesitated to answer the mob’s questions.

Bajrang Dal Activists Stage a Protest Against the Case

The SHO further said that the main accused in the case, identified as Aryan Singh, has fled after the incident and efforts are on to nab him and his supporters. Singh is an office-bearer of the district unit of the Bajrang Dal, reported The Telegraph.

He also confirmed that two separate FIRs have been lodged pertaining to the incident. While the first FIR is related to assault on the cattle transporters, the second FIR deals with illegal transportation of cattle.

The police have also seized four bulls and the vehicle in which they were being allegedly transported to a slaughter house.

Expressing their displeasure over the case lodged against Aryan and his supporters, Bajrang Dal activists staged a protest on Wednesday, according to The Telegraph.

The state police headquarters took cognisance of the matter and directed the Vaishali superintendent of police to take precautionary measures to avoid any such incident in the future.
