With the assembly polls approaching the state of Himachal Pradesh on 9 November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally on at Kangra, on Wednesday.

At his first rally in the state, the Prime Minister said that it was a necessity to save Himachal Pradesh from the Congress regime. He said, “Congress is now become a laughing club.It is time to bid farewell to those who have looted Himachal Pradesh”.

The prime minister took a jibe at the Congress leaders for questioning the sacrifice of jawans. “How can the Congress leader speak about Kashmir’s Azadi? How dare they insult our soldiers?”, he said.

Modi criticised the Congress for flourishing the role of mafias in the state. He said:

Himachal Pradesh is a sacred land. Congress is responsible for flourishing 5 mafias. The mining mafia, the jungle mafia, the drug mafia, the tender mafia and the transfer mafia.

The BJP, asserted the prime minister, is set to win back Himachal. “I have worked very hard in Himachal Pradesh. I am well aware of every city and street in the state.”

The BJP has diverted from it’s usual practise and announced it’s Chief Ministerial candidate as Prem Kumar Dhumal.
