3. India’s High Fiscal Deficit Cause of Concern: Gita Gopinath at WEF

"We need to fix that." The International Monetary Fund's first woman chief economist Gita Gopinath, who was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, has flagged the risk associated with India's "high" fiscal deficit – and said it needs to be fixed.

Gopinath also pointed out a slower pace of growth of the global economy – with the IMF cutting the estimate of global growth this year from 3.7 percent to 3.5 percent.
